Acting as General Foreman for LEI Companies on this incredibly challenging and extremely short-scheduled job was one of the greatest learning experiences in my career. With an electrical contract topping $4.7 million and an expected schedule of 12 months this was a race to the finish from day one.
My duties as General Foreman involved supervising, at the project's high point, 35 electricians, daily coordination, scheduling and constant problem solving. I designed initial home run schedules and piping, slab-on-grade underground design, pre-fabrication of all wall rough for the 150 individual offices, and the detailed work in the three stadium-seating lecture halls. LEI Companies was in charge of all power, lighting, low voltage piping, cable tray installation, the entire dimming control system and fire alarm.
